Critical Reflection

Module Reflection At the start of the course, I aimed to understand how to apply critical thinking effectively in report writing and presentations. I also wanted to be more expressive when I present or give a speech. Now that the course is about to be completed, it is paramount to evaluate what I have achieved and whether I met my goals that I had set. I am confident to say that I better understand how to apply critical thinking effectively in report writing. In the course, we learnt about Paul-Elder's Critical Thinking Framework, which taught us how to better evaluate the credibility of sources and validity of an argument.  For example, using the intellectual standards of Accuracy, Significance, Relevance and Clarity, we can determine whether the source is appropriate to be used in a report.   In the article “Yeedi Vac Station review”, Cowton (2021) introduces the technical specifications and functionalities of the Yeedi Vac Station. The Yeedi Vac Station consists of a robot vacuum and a docking station. According to the author, the docking station has a 2.5 litre dust bag which can store debris for up to 30 days (Cowton, 2021). Letter of Self Introduction

  Dear Professor Blackstone, I am taking this opportunity to introduce myself so that you are able to know me better. My name is Chua Jia Hern and I currently study robotics systems engineering in Singapore Institute of Technology. I graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a diploma in mechanical engineering in 2020. After that, I went to serve National Service and was posted to the Republic of Singapore Navy as a marine systems operator onboard a frigate. While studying at Singapore Polytechnic, I was introduced to computer programming as it was a subject in the curriculum. That sparked my passion for programming and I applied the knowledge I have learnt in my internship project. My team and I created a program using C++ programming language to keep track of inventory and tool management, allowing data to be stored by scanning barcodes. Due to my interest in programming and my technical knowledge of mechanical engineering, I wanted to study in a university course where I could a
